Microsoft registry checker is a term that simply refers to a Microsoft registry cleaner. A registry checker is software that checks a Windows operating system’s registry for errors and other types of corruption. By definition, a checker
could do no more than this.
A registry cleaner, on the other hand, will check the registry for errors and then repair them, or clean the registry of any errors and corruption it finds. Actually, there is no such thing as a pure registry checker. This is true even though a registry cleaner checks for errors and corruption in the early stages of its operation.
Besides Microsoft registry checker, registry cleaners are also known as Microsoft registry cleaners, Windows registry cleaners, registry scanners and registry repair software or programs.
