Sometimes her problem would be worst than that!  She said sometimes, out of nowhere, her computer would freeze up and she would have to reboot by holding the “on” button for 5 seconds.  Of course, since this is not an orderly shut down  she could loose anything she was working on when forced to do this.

I told her what she was looking for was a registry cleaner since the types of problems she was experiencing are usually caused by registry corruption.  The errors a computer throws at the user are usually the result of Windows not being able to find the file it is looking for.  The file is somewhere, Windows just doesn’t know where!

After pondering what I said, the elementary school teacher in her came out.  “In other words,” she said, “Windows and it’s files are playing hide and seek and Windows is losing.”  I told her that was a very interesting, yet very accurate way to describe what was happening. 

I told her the registry is the part of Windows that keeps track of where everything is but in her case there are misleading bits of information in the registry giving her operating system a difficult time finding what it needs.  This will slow a computer down and create errors. 

However, a registry cleaner will eliminate some of these unneeded entries and reconstruct the others bad files and this will, in turn stop the inner Windows confusion.  Once again, she responded like a teacher when she she told me she put the registry cleaner to the test. 

She called back a couple of days later and said the registry cleaner I had recommended to her received a top grade.  She said she gave it an A+!  She also said after using it for several hours  there were no error pop-ups, freezes or any of that “bad behavior.”  Then she excitedly told me her computer’s speed was much better than she remembered it being in a long time.

The first sign a registry has corruption is that the computer slows down.  As more corruption builds, the computer may stop in the middle of an operation leaving an error message.  The blue screen crash can also be caused by registry corruption.  To stop these things from happening, it is always wise for a computer owner to be quipped with a virus scanner, a spyware cleaner and a registry cleaner.
