Windows XP registry repair is done by using a software program known as a registry cleaner. To attempt to fix a Windows registry by any other method is not advisable because so many things can wrong when working directly with
registry files.

There was a time before registry cleaners, getting into the registry by hand to repair corruption was the only way it could be done. This was way back in the Windows 95 days. Because so many computer disasters occurred from attempting to repair registries in this manor, registry cleaning programs were developed.

Just about every registry scan and clean program that is around today is Windows XP ready. There are several that are not yet Vista ready, so be sure to check to see if a particular registry cleaner is capable of cleaning the type of registry your computer uses before putting it to work on  your computer’s registry.
